Hey! I appreciate that ❤️

This has been edifying..I am now up and recording on the garage band daw and feel pretty comfortable with the hardware and software...do you know what resources I may look at to learn more about sound engineering as a beginner (i.e., mixing compression, producing a song with live and electronic acoustics - [like plug ins from the app]). I feel so overwhelmed just getting started. Got the song in my head don't know how to produce it in a way that sounds palatable to listeners who may come by YT and hear it...YAH willing, praying for wisdom and guidance on this subject and asking you as well... I know you have been "in the game for a minute" and I absolutely looooooove your music (you and your sister Cameron Joy)..part of my daily dance mix HalleluYAH!!...otherwise may take a short cut; may be finding a sound engineer on Fiverr, YAH willing...do you think that's a good idea?

To add...

I can sense your desire to learn. As you're just getting started, it's okay to outsource (Fiverr or using other experienced professionals) in order to speed up the process and get songs from your head to tunes people can listen to and enjoy.

It also will help you stay motivated once you hear your creation finalized and ready to share with the world. I still think it's a great thing to research, test, try, tutorials etc... since you've got that passion for it, but that path is a marathon and takes time to develop skill you can be satisfied with. It will come as you put the work in with lots of practice and time.

In the meantime, and in between time, consider hiring people you can outsource to get the song produced, mixed, mastered. Rooting for you!

Hey 👋🏽 thanks for your message/question. I can understand the overwhelm. There’s quite a bit to take in when just getting started with mixing and engineering. Since you’re using Garage Band, I would search YouTube for beginner tutorials on

How to eq in Garage Band

Garage band tutorials for beginners

Compression in Garage Band

Using stock plugins in Garage Band

Start there…

That’s how I learned Studio One and pretty much everything I know how to do is by tutorials and spending a lot of time testing.

Far as Fiverr, I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all. Just make sure the communication is good between you and the engineer before you hire them. (Some are from different countries) so if you can find an English speaking person, chances are they will understand your mixing requirements.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

Also I’m glad you got our music and it blesses your walk! That’s awesome to hear!

HalleluYAH! What are some of your favorite options for hosting business email domains and websites that you can still edit and customize with javascript, html, and css scripts? Any ideas or thoughts I wouldn't even mind a drag and drop service right now....but have more I want to do on the backend for one of the websites eventually...

YAH is incredible! So grateful for this wisdom. HalleluYAH👑

Hey! I have some thoughts on this, let me gather them and circle back on this. I’m sure others would want to know to some degree as well. Are you a website coder? Like create sites from scratch? You got me curious now 😊

So Sistah HQO! Thanks for the subscriptions services and edifying videos. So grateful 🙏🏾 What do you think of the MB27 Shure microphone? I just bought but don't even know how to put it together it didn't come but a usb connecting cable for my pc and on top of that not sure if it's worth the money or not. HalleluYaH!

Good question! There’s a lot to choose from out there but you selected a high tier mic used by a lot of professionals in both music and podcasting so that’s great.

To operate and use this mic it needs a few things 🎙

1. A special connector which Sure sells

2. A boom arm (I have the Rode PSA1 which would be great for your mic because of the weight it can handle

3. A cloud lifter (your mic is quiet and will need extra gain or volume to push out clean quality at good levels)

4. A pair of mic cables

5. An audio interface to plug the mic into

Now you might be thinking 🤔 wait a minute, I just paid a nice little price for this thang, why it’s not ready to go out of the box?

It’s one of the mics on the market that are so popular and very good quality but you have to add things to it to make it work and get the most out of it.

Check out this video that goes into more detail and actually gives you a sample of what the mic sounds like when hooked up with everything.

Shalam, HQO,

I just started mastering and mixing. Right now it sounds a mess (high and low vocals all on one track) for example. But learning to produce is fun. I've decided that I don't want to keep paying for AI plugins to mix and master the music. I prefer to have a human do it. Can you suggest anyone who can do a few projects per month on a paid monthly subscription basis. Truly do need some help and support in the music quality area right now. Thanks so much HQO. You truly helped me get on the right path last year when you sent this. It changed the game as far as understanding of how to get started as a novice. Getting there slowly but surely.

Hey! It's perfectly normal to have levels all over the place when you're in the learning and experimenting stages and I'm glad you're having fun with it. I understand how the plugins can start to add up and how you're wanting to pivot and hire a professional. I've been mixing my music and Open Writers for so long I don't have a specific mixing referral I trust enough to recommend. One company that does come to mind that's budget friendly is Fiverr. I will be making a post soon with some of the TOP things to look for before hiring someone for mixing/mastering purposes.

Wow! You are so good at mixing and mastering. I now have so much respect for this skill. It's not as easy as I thought it would be as a novice. But I'm willing to learn how to use the release, mixing, attack, ratio, and side chain settings to do the compression it's just that it's a "special skill" as they say...do you write e-guides for beginners? I would love to purchase additional resources from people like you. Fiverr is a great idea too. Most definitely will try that as well. Thank you so much HQO. Having so much fun and so inspired by your artistry. Abba has give you a talent indeed!

Here's the post to help give insight and guidance with regards to Fiverr. https://tinyurl.com/2rzwv8yk

Far as e-guides, I'd love to get more of my experience into an accessible format like that. It's just a matter of the subject matter. Let me know some of the things you'd be interested in learning. All feedback is appreciated and helps me help others 😊

I appreciate that :) To clarify, I don't master as much anymore. I use to use Ozone for mastering to shape the overall sound of the song but I now outsource that to a fellow named Bruno from the UK I believe, he's on Fiverr.

Wow...I just searched "mixing vs mastering" into chatGPT. I see, so you apply EQ and different sound effects to various track to bring out the best harmony between instruments and voices right. That's pretty neat and cool. There do not seem to be a whole lot of women doing this (as advertised). On the other hand mastering is adjusting levels to "industry standards and regulations" on a wide range of audio systems. This explains al ot of the problems I've been having with recordings things on my laptop macbook and iphone. May Abba YAH barak you for your example and this kind hearted response. You've helped me get so far in less than I year since I first contacted you. I truly appreciation Hadassah Queen O, OctiaviYAH child of the King.💝

Also I've switched to the AKG C14 mic for now...It works pretty well but I still prefer dynamic mic sound even in studio recording hoping to sell this one and get a dynamic one soon YAH willing. AKG is very unforgiving compared to others but sounds much better than the Sure mic to me at least.

Yes that's exactly what I was asking...like what's going on here...I thought this was supposed to be a whole package deal but a friend recommended to me so I chose; didn't know what I was getting myself into...Thank you so much may YAH barak you multiple fold for this gold mine of information!
