Looking at Creative Ways to Grow Closer to Yah
Shalom beautiful people of Yah!
As the title suggests, we’re looking into creative ways to grow closer to Yah. These ideas encourage you to think outside traditional spiritual practices and see how your creativity is part of your relationship with Yah.
I’ll be showing you real life examples with how I’ve used creativity in different ways recently, whether through prayer, music, or affirmations, all to build a more personal and intimate relationship with Yah, and inviting you to do the same.
⭐️ Idea 1: Use Your Unique Gifts to Draw Closer to Yah
📜 Scripture: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, as good trustees of the manifold favor of Elohim.” (1 Peter 4:10)
🟨🟪🟩 Instead of following a rigid routine, tap into the creative gifts and talents Yah has blessed you with to build a personal connection. Whether it’s music, art, writing, or any other form of expression, using these gifts can help you communicate with the Most High in a way that feels authentic and alive.
🧰 Example: One way I’ve experienced a deeper connection with Yah is through my hair and scalp healing prayer.
I’m keeping my hair short for now, and you may not have had challenges with hair but this isn’t just about hair, it’s about praying over our minds and releasing negative energy that can weigh us down.
This prayer is one of the bonuses in my Forgiveness Tour course, which is designed to bring healing in all areas of our lives, not just emotionally but physically as well.
I’ll be sharing the guided prayer during tonight’s livestream so come through. 🙏🏽
Using this unique form of creativity allowed me to connect with Yah in a deeply personal way, while inviting others into that space of healing and prayer.
⭐️ Idea 2: Make Your Creative Process an Offering to Yah
📜 Scripture: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Master and not to men.” (Colossians 3:23)
🟨🟪🟩 Instead of viewing your creative efforts as separate from your spiritual life, dedicate them to Yah as a form of worship.
Whether you are making music, cooking, or writing, offering your creativity to Yah can deepen your connection and align your gifts with His purpose for your life.
🧰 Example: Two days ago, I wrote and recorded a brand new song called Thank You Enough. This wasn’t just about making music, I dedicated an entire day to worship, spending time with Yah, and tuning in to His voice while I created. That day of creative worship became a deep conversation with Him. Writing that song was an offering, a form of communication and worship that drew me even closer to His presence. It showed me that when I use my gifts for Him, those moments become sacred and transformational. 🎧 Peep a snippet of it here and join us tonight to hear the full song!
⭐️ Idea 3: Listen to the Voice of Yah through Quiet Reflection and Creativity
📜 Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am Elohim.” (Psalms 46:10)
🟨🟪🟩 Intimacy with Yah doesn’t always happen through traditional prayer. Sometimes, it’s in moments of quiet reflection, journaling, meditating on His Word, or creating something beautiful. Yah speaks to us through the stillness, and using creativity as a form of worship can lead to deeper revelations.
🧰 Example: Another way I’ve found intimacy with Yah is through a simple affirmation audio I recorded called You Are. I created it as a tool to use during moments of discouragement, and I’m glad to know others are being blessed by it. It’s back-to-back scripture embedded into empowering and encouraging affirmations. When I need to hear Yah’s voice, I play it to realign my mind and spirit. In those quiet moments, this audio has helped me tune out the noise and focus on Yah’s truths.
Just a little glimpse..
So, fam, that's just a little glimpse into how creativity can deepen your connection with Yah. Whether it’s through music, art, prayer, or even something unexpected, I encourage you to tap into your gifts and see how Yah can meet you in those moments.
