AI Fusion of Music Legends: Kanye, Beyonce, Lil Wayne - 'Anyone Can Change' ft. Psalm 86:5
🎧 Listen to “Anyone Can Change”
Shalom family,
So I've got an interesting story to tell you! You see, I spend a lot of time on YouTube and Google, always searching for different tools to help spread positivity and encourage more people in creative ways. Well, during one of my online research sessions, I stumbled upon a software company called Lalals. Have you heard of them? They have technology that allows you to change your voice to sound like famous celebrities and other seasoned professionals. Now why would someone like me want to do that? We’ll get to that later. Being the detective I am, I emailed them to make sure everything was on the up and up and they ensured that they only use “legal” material to generate the vocals. Their website says it’s completely legal to use their tech when you pay for their PRO plan and you have permission to use it for commercial projects. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try.
But before I could dive into this new adventure, I needed an idea. Thankfully, I never run out of those! I've always imagined what it would be like if popular rappers and singers ditched the evil side of the industry and promoted the goodness of Yah and His forgiveness to their audience. It would be such an amazing experience for the world, especially considering how dark and deceptive things have become in the music industry.
So, I decided to create a song about several popular artists coming together to celebrate their change and embracing forgiveness, grateful for a second chance. After finalizing the lyrics and coming up with melodies for the chorus, I fired up my music production software and recorded the hook in a male rap style with a Southern flair. I then uploaded my dry accapella vocals to the Lalals website and chose AI-generated Lil Wayne's voice for the vocalist. It took a couple tries to get the vocal with the least amount of artifacts, but the result was actually pretty good!
From there, I started building the rest of the song.. recording different styles of singing, rapping, dropping dubs, adlibs, backgrounds. Every voice you hear in the song is actually mine transformed into a generative vocal. Crazy, right? It was quite a process as the mixing took the longest, but I had a blast and I'm really proud of the final product - especially for the first time using this new technology.
For anyone wanting to know how you can use Lalals creatively and get the best results, let me know in the comments and I’d be glad to make a video showing the process.
To share with you how I structured this awesome song, I used generative vocals for all the artists. Lil Wayne as the main vocalist, Pink providing some background vocals on the hooks, A$AP Rocky joined the party for a part of the second verse, while Beyoncé added her touch to the pre-hooks. And to top it all off, AI Kanye took over the third and final verse. I made it a true collab style, so it feels like they were all in the studio together. It's such a dope vibe!
Oh, and I also added a funny intro skit at the beginning with my regular voice and generative vocals of Wheezy and a powerful alter call at the end to really bring the essence of the song together. It's all about showing that anyone can change!
Psalm 86:5 which says..
For thou, Yah, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
I really hope that people will connect with this song and discover more about the love of Yah. In fact, I have plans to create more songs like this, reaching out to those who may feel lost and are searching for some light💡. Let's spread the love!
And that's how I crafted the song structure and lineup.
Couple of responses I received before releasing the song to the public.
When I sent the mix to Bruno my mastering engineer and he said "Hey is that Kanye on the track Ai?" and even though his ears knew lol, it was a good feeling coming close when nailing his cadence. I also fired it off to a long time music colleague (Native Instruments sound designer and producer) FMajor and he said “Cool stuff! Next level of ‘Alternative’ Using the artists as a way to communicate your own creative ideas.” and “What if people really love those artists but would prefer them speaking a Kingdom message?”.
All in all, it was a fun project to work on, and I can't wait to share it with the world! You can listen to “Anyone Can Change” right here. Share your thoughts in the comments on my YouTube channel, as I always enjoy hearing from you!
Thanks for journeying with me!
